This area is famous for it's fertile land located in the shadow of the Dragoon Mountains where the famous Cochise Stronghold once stood. Most of this area is farmland although there are a few cattle ranches. To the west there are great mountain views which are best seen at sunset. The cultural history of the area is rich, as it has been inhabited for thousands of years by native american populations. Some of the more dramatic and intriguing events, places and characters in the history of the Old West are all nearby, including the infamous Apache Wars, Cochise, Geronimo, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, and more. There's also the National Historic site of Fort Bowie, which is located across the valley in the foot hills of the Chiracahua range.
